Hey everyone, I guess I left something hanging there on my last newsletter, right?! As I was saying I got those girls contact and I texted them to keep in touch and if they had any questions I’d make myself available for answering them as much as I could. Right away one of the girls, Loes, replied and she was so thankful about all that we talked about and she was curious if how God could speak with us so closely and intentionally. As we kept on talking she had some other questions, so picture with me our talk on WhatsApp:
Loes – “How can i pray? I never did it before but someone I love just got into an accident and I want to pray for him.”
Me – “Well, it’s like you talking to your best friend, or a person you love, that listens to you.”
Loes – “I’m going to try… that friend can’t feel his left arm at this moment. Can I ask God to make it better, or is that impossible?”
Me – “Nothing is impossible for God… I’ll join you and pray for his arm to have full feeling back again.”
While all this was going on, my heart started being filled with excitement for her hunger, and within me I began to pray because I know God desires to show Himself to her! I asked some friends that were with me to pray too and then I texted her back to let me know if she had any news on her friend’s case. We were still texting back and forth, and in just a couple minutes… SHE RECEIVES A CALL and texts me:
Loes – “Wow, wait… It worked. His feeling in his arm is back.”
Me – “Really?!!!”
Loes – “Can’t believe this… Yes. Just called…”
Me – “That’s who God is!”
Loes – “He is real.”
Isn’t it amazing?! How God’s faithfulness and love work! He didn’t do it because I prayed with her, He did it because He makes himself found whenever a person seeks Him wholeheartedly!!! He is so interested in coming for our needs, but He wants to embrace our hearts first. If He heals or decides not to, HE IS STILL GOD! HE IS STILL GOOD! He has a plan and nothing is impossible for Him.
Well, I’ve been in touch with her and she’s amazing, she’s simple and so curious about Jesus, the one who made a bridge for her to connect to a God that cares about her and couldn’t be apart from her anymore.
I have another short story for you, it happened just this last week. We went to a house church that occurs inside of the refugee camp, it was initiated by Sigurd, a Norwegian and missionary with a huge heart for the Middle East. He and many amazing people from SOS Church have been investing a lot in this refugee camp, as I’ve told you before. Through him, I had once again the opportunity of leading some of the refugees and our team in couple worship songs. However, the best part was to sit with some of the guys afterwards and see God bringing them understanding as they had some questions about sin and Jesus being not only a prophet, but the Messiah. I was never able to speak the way I did on that moment, all that I’ve ever read about the prophets, sin and sacrifices in the Old Testament came to me and, as a mirror, I could see Jesus being the fulfillment for all of those prophecies and promised to God’s people and explain it to them. They have a real knowledge on the prophets and the God of the Old Testament. So whenever they get encountered with how God, through Jesus and the New Convenant, made himself flesh to be Immanuel, God with us, and not only God for us; that He is not so distant that we have to try to “wash our sins with good deeds” to, maybe, reach Him and His goodness, their eyes are opened and a look of clarity begin to blossom together with a thankful smile on their faces. – “Shukraan”, they said – which means “thank you” in Arabic. And again I felt the overwhelming power of God, His nature appearing right there, after all that those guys and their families have passed through, there was HOPE being restored. I sincerely pray that you feel encouraged today to share the gospel to whoever it is, because God wants everyone! Through His love we’re able to change people’s perspective on how they see the refugees. Knowing they’re people, doctors and young economists; that they’ve paid to get through the Mediterranean on rubber dinghies and, maybe, make it alive to the other side. Keep praying for them and let’s shine the light of Jesus for the world to see!

Oi pessoal, creio que deixei algo pendente no meu último boletim informativo, né?! Como estava dizendo, eu peguei o contato daquelas meninas e mandei uma mensagem pra elas para que pudéssemos manter contato e que se elas tivessem alguma pergunta eu estaria disponível à respondê-las o máximo que conseguisse. Imediatamente uma das meninas, Loes (pronuncia-se Lu”sh”), respondeu a minha mensagem dizendo que estava muito grata por tudo sobre que conversamos e que ela estava curiosa para saber mais sobre como Deus pode falar conosco de maneira tão próxima é intencional. Conforme continuamos a conversa, ela tinha outras perguntas, então imagine comigo a nossa conversa no WhatsApp:
Loes – “Como posso orar? Eu nunca fiz isso antes mas alguém que amo sofreu um acidente e eu queria orar por ele”.
Eu – “Bom, é como falar com seu melhor amigo/a, ou uma pessoas que ama, que ouve você”.
Loes – “Vou tentar… Esse amigo não pode sentir seu braço esquerdo no momento. Posso pedir pra Deus para fazê-lo ficar melhor, ou é impossível?
Eu – “Nada é impossível para Deus… Vou orar com você para que o braço dele volte a ter sensibilidade.”
Enquanto tudo isso está acontecendo, meu coração começa a se encher de alegria por quão sedenta ela estava, e dentro de mim eu começo a orar, pois eu sei que Deus deseja demonstrar sua presença a ela! Pedi a algumas amigas para que orassem comigo e então escrevi a ela para que me dissesse se ela tivesse alguma novidade sobre seu amigo. Continuamos a conversar, e depois de alguns minutos… ELA RECEBE UMA LIGAÇÃO e me escreve:
Loes – “Wow, perai… funcionou. Ele voltou a sentir seu braço.”
Eu – “Sério?”
Loes – “Não posso acreditar nisso… Sim. Acabou de ligar…”
Eu – “Esse é quem Deus é!”
Loes – “Ele é real”.
Que demais! A fidelidade é o amor de Deus trabalham de maneiras incríveis! Ele não fez isso pois eu orei com ela, Ele fez pois Ele se deixa encontrar por todo aquele que o busca de todo o coração!!! Ele está interessado em responder à nossa necessidade, porém Ele deseja envolver primeiramente os nossos corações. Se Ele cura ou decide não curar, ELE CONTINUA DEUS! ELE CONTINUA BOM! Ele tem um plano e nada é impossível para Ele. Bom, tenho mantido contato com ela e ela é muito querida, simples e super curiosa sobre Jesus; aquele que fez uma ponte para a conectar a um Deus que se importa com ela e que não deseja ficar nem um segundo longe dela.
Tenho outra história pra você, aconteceu essa semana que se passou. Fomos a uma “igreja em casa” que acontece dentro do campo de refugiados; iniciado por um missionário norueguês chamado Sigurd. Ele e um maravilhoso grupo de pessoas da SOS Church, com escrevi anteriormente, têm investido muito nesse campo de refugiados. Através dele, eu tive novamente a oportunidade de ministrar algumas canções aos refugiados e ao nosso time. Todavia, a melhor parte foi poder sentar-me com alguns jovens e ver Deus trazendo entendimento a eles enquanto eles faziam algumas perguntas sobre o pecado e sobre Jesus não ser somente um profeta, mas o Messias. Nunca fui capaz de me expressar da maneira com a qual fiz naquele momento; tudo o que li sobre os profetas, sobre o pecado e os sacrifícios no velho testamento veio a minha mente e, como um espelho, eu pude ver Jesus sendo o cumprimento de todas quedas profecias e promessas feitas ao o povo de Deus e explicar tudo pra eles. Eles têm um conhecimento real sobre os profetas e sobre o Deus do antigo testamento. Então, todas as vezes que se deparam com o fato de, como Deus, através de Jesus e o novo testamento, fez a si mesmo carne para ser Emanuel, Deus conosco, e não somente Deus por nós; que Ele não está tão distante que devemos tentar de tudo para “lavar nossos pecados com boas obras” para que, talvez, consigamos alcançar sua bondade; seus olhos são abertos e um olhar de clareza começa a florescer juntamente com um um sorriso de gratidão em suas faces – “Shukraan”, eles disseram – o que significa “obrigado/a” em árabe. E mais uma vez senti o imensurável poder de Deus, Sua natureza revelada ali, mesmo depois de tudo o que esse jovens e suas famílias passaram, havia ali ESPERANÇA sendo restaurada. Sinceramente eu oro para que você se sinta encorajado a compartilhar o evangelho hoje para quem quer que seja, pois Deus deseja a todos. Pelo Seu amor somos capazes de mudar a perspectiva de muitos quanto à maneira que vêem os refugiados. Compreendendo que ele são pessoas, médicos e jovens economistas; que pagaram para atravessar o mediterrâneo em botes infláveis para que, talvez, chegassem vivos do outro lado. Continue a orar por eles e vamos seguir em frente, brilhando a luz de Jesus para que o mundo todo veja!

• Vamos louvar a Deus por sua fidelidade para com todos os corações.
• Peço que estejam em oração por esse jovens e pela Loes, para que Deus se revele ainda mais a eles.
• Peço que estejam orando por minha saúde, pois tenho tido tosse intermitente há uma semana já.
